Food Network Star Episode 5 Elimination (Spoiler)

Star Salvation Episode 2Well, it looks like the Food Network needs to work out the kinks with the twist of Star Salvation after Food Network Star this year.  If you have Comcast cable (possibly others, but I have not confirmed), the second episode of Star Salvation is already On Demand.  The latest eliminated contestant competes on Star Salvation, so with the second episode already available, we know who will be eliminated tomorrow during the Fourth of July episode.

If you want to know who was eliminated from episode 5 of Food Network Star and also who went home after the Star Salvation challenge (2 contestants were eliminated again), continue reading.

Viet Pham was the one competing on the second episode of Star Salvation (pictured below), so that means he was eliminated during episode five.

Star Salvation Episode 2

Also, if you are interested in who was eliminated after Star Salvation, Viet Pham AND Danushka Lysek were both eliminated after Lovely Jackson had the best dish.  So neither of them will be the next Food Network Star.

This reminds me of when the Chopped All Stars promotional video gave away some finalists.

  1. SPOILER!!

So I am let down on two counts: one that I already know that Viet gets eliminated and two, that freakin Lovely is still in the running.

  2. Oh for God's sake. The one guy who can really cook is eliminated and the woman who makes leaden donuts out of store-bought pizza dough stays? Why am I watching?

  3. At least the wicked witch won't be returning...SOME salvation there, right?

  4. Seriously? You're airing the spoiler the day BEFORE the episode airs?

  5. This is Food Network, remember? Where you find out who the Next Food Network Star is months before the finale even airs!

  6. This might not be a Food Network error. Remember, the star salvation shorts aren't "aired" on TV, they are meant to be web episodes and Comcast Cable is showing them on their "On Demand" section. It could be that they were released too soon due to a mistake on Comcast's part. And knowing this is a cable company (and one of the most sucktastic ones at that) I can see that happening.

This particular episode is NOT available on the Food Network web page.

  7. Yeah, but 9 seasons of this have taught is that is not about how well you can cook as much as it is about your camera personality. And as much as I love Viet, he really didn't come across very well.

Of course it is very possible he could have been taught this, but that isn't what this particular show is about.

  8. If you have DirecTV, same result. I watched Star Salvation episode 1 and also watched episode 2 where both Viet and Danushka get eliminated. No loss with the latter.

I was shocked that Food Network would allow such a spoiler. Kinda ruins the show tonite since you know the result

  9. Couldn't agree more with Andrea and Colleen. In what parallel universe is Lovely still here. I don't think she's uttered one authentic word on the entire series. And her cooking is pedestrian. I could learn-and would watch-Viet cook any day

  10. Haha I'm danushka I'm so happy :/

  11. I like Viet the best of the ones eliminated so far. I was hoping he would get another chance. Lovely isn't the worst ever...there are other people currently on FN that irritate me more than she does, but I really don't think I would watch her show if she won. I would watch Viet.

    Danushka...finally!! Bye bye!

  12. Well, there IS a silver lining -- at least we know Danushka won't be back!

  13. And just because it's there doesn't mean you need to watch it.

  14. Well I had a hunch it would be the end for Viet a little sooner then we thought... yes he is he most skilled talented chef, but of you dont have that it factor then youre not going to win Food Network Star... in reality most of the time the most skilled or educated chef doesnt win.. its the one who has the balance of great personality and culinary skills (and arguably the culinary pov even though after the show it doesnt matter)

Though yes Viet probably should have won that one... Lovely just edged him out... I dont think Lovely will be the one to come back but who knows they love to have a ringer in these and Lovely may be the ringer

  15. I like Danushka, I would watch her show. too bad

  16. Thank goodness Danuska won't be returning. Prior to this show, I've watched her on Chopped twice. Her attitude is a big turnoff!! ADIOS DOMESTIC GODDESS......LOL

  17. Robert didn't say one bad thing about Viet's food, but had a criticism for Lovely and she won? Viet was one of my favorites this season. Well, I should know that anyone I like won't win. (I hated that idiot from last season.) I think Lovely is a phony but they obviously want her back.
