Big Sunday Night On The Food Network - 'Food Network Star' Plus Specials

Photo - Food Network
This Sunday night the Food Network seems to be going for the big ratings.  It is the season premiere for Food Network Star, which is in its 10th season and will start at 9pm ET.  If you are interested in watching the episode, knowing who will be eliminated, or want to out who the two Food Network Stars from previous seasons will be competing this year, it was detailed in an earlier post.

Before Food Network Star at 8pm ET, there will be a Guy's Grocery Games special where Food Network Star winners will compete against each other for charity.  Jeff Mauro, Melissa d'Arabian, Aaron McCargo Jr, and Justin Warner are the four Food Network Star winners who compete in your typical Guy's Grocery Games challenges.

Finally, after Food Network Star at 10pm ET, there is a special episode of Cutthroat Kitchen.  In the Cutthroat Kitchen special, the various judges from the show will be competing against each other.  The judges competing will be Geoffrey Zakarian, Antonia Lofaso, Jet Tila, and Simon Majumdar.  You would think Geoffrey Zakarian has the advantage over the others with him being an Iron Chef, but as you know, the best chef doesn't always win on Cutthroat Kitchen

  1. So—Will Aarti get to judge her fellow FNS winners?

  2. And who's going to judge Cutthroat Kitchen since we've occupied all four that have been judges except for Giada.

  3. Both valid points... I guess we will see who the judges are for both shows on Sunday. Unless anyone has seen them in the previews.

  4. That is a very good question, indeed! Maybe Giada, since she's the odd one out?

I'd personally like to see Scott Conant judging as he'd be merciless.

  5. Well, they only need one judge for Cutthroat, and they've got a raft of judges to pull from for Triple-G.

  6. I'd like to see Scott Conant too, but my number one choice would be Alex Guarnaschelli.

  7. I saw a photo of the judging panel for Grocery Games, and Aarti wasn't on it. I don't know who's judging Cutthroat Kitchen, but if they want to scare the bleep out of Geoffrey and Simon, they could get Alex Guarnaschelli.

  9. Cutthroat Kitchen - I know it was for charity, but again another rigged game. Judge def enjoyed Zakarian's dish more, but giving 22k to charity is a much better donation/tax write off than Z's 3k. Of course only one sabotage at the end as well, with a large money differential between the two, def not the first time they changed the game up to keep it close in the end.

  12. I like her better than Paula Deen. Nacy has a beautiful home. Her recipes look so good. Her baked corn pudding looks good.

  13. I like Nancy quite a bit but as I look at this dear woman all I can think is she is gonna have a heart attack sooner than later! All that wonderful family will be so sad! Nancy please take care of your health! You can still be a wonderful cook and take care of your health! Paula Deen all over again!

  14. My husband and I really like Farmhouse Rules. I like the way she cooks and I get inspired by a lot of her recipes. She seems like a genuinely nice person. But the way she talks to us like we're five year olds is extremely irritating. Beyond extremely. She seems to have a lot of children in her life, so perhaps it's just become a habit. But, please Nancy. PLEASE. Please, please, please. Stop talking to me like I'm a child who doesn't want to eat my Brussels sprouts.
