Mad Cactus From Restaurant Impossible To Close

The Mad Cactus restaurant in Strongsville, Ohio, which was featured on season two of Restaurant Impossible will be closing after business on July 21st.  The restaurant has been open for 28 years and has decided to close two years after appearing on Restaurant Impossible.  It had a lot of bad reviews, as well as recent rumors that it was going to close.

You might remember on the episode that the owner and Robert Irvine did not see eye-to-eye on a lot of things.  The owner also pretty much got rid of all of the changes that Robert put in place and brought back the old menu and things such as $3 steak night.

The owner has said in the past that if Robert Irvine came back, "I'd lock the door."  He also opened up the restaurant for lunch again, which went against Robert's suggestion of closing for lunch.

I have updated the Restaurant Impossible Update Page to show that this restaurant has closed.  This is the 8th restaurant from season two that has closed and now half of the restaurants from season two are closed just two years after their makeovers.

 Cleveland.com reported the restaurant's closing.

  1. Hardly a surprise. He was one of the worst owners on the show.

  3. I was pretty sure it was going to close when he said "I'm the general manager." Dude, you couldn't manage it, why do you think suddenly you'll be good at it??

  4. 3 buck steak night. Yeah, that'll work. He deserved to go under. And half of those places didn't fail. Irvine has a record way better than Ramsay.

  6. The owner had a really bad attitude, and he looked like a shady guy. The fact that the place had been raided due to illegal gambling made me further doubt that the owner was focused on the food.

  7. does anyone remember the name of that crazy lady who made really good desserts but could not cook for anything and robert eventually left. Her husband threw anyone out of the restaraunt that did not like the food?

  8. You are probably thinking of Kitchen Nightmares, and Amy's Baking Company. Gordon Ramsay walked out.

  9. No matter how many times I watch that episode I still want to slap the lady and punch her husband simply for the way they fired that waitress
