Food Network Stars and Their Halloween Costumes

A lot of Food Network chefs/stars were dressed up for Halloween yesterday, and a popular theme was to dress up like a different Food Network chef/star.  Let's take a look at some of the costumes that everyone decided to wear for Halloween:

Rocco DiSpirito dressed up as half Giada De Laurentiis and half Guy Fieri on New York Live to promote his new show Restaurant Divided:

The hosts of The Chew dressed up as the Spice Girls, which included Mario Batali and Michael Symon in drag.

Guy Fieri appeared on the Rachael Ray show and decided to dress as Mario Batali.  I wonder who filled in as his hairdresser for this costume?

Perhaps that was a little payback for Mario dressing as Guy Fieri a few years ago:

Rachael Ray and her husband dressed up on her show as pirates:

Giada, her sister, and Aunt Raffy dressed up as black cats, her daughter a peacock, and her husband as Dracula:

Sandra Lee, who is infamous for her Halloween Semi-Homemade episodes, dressed up as Cher again:

Finally, here is Damaris Phillips' costume:

  1. At least we were spared Sandra's dreadful Halloween show this year.

  4. Adam appeared on Chopped a couple of years ago. It was a grilling contest, and he didn't like it. He made it to the dessert round but didn't win.

  6. there are somewhere like 3.5 MILLION people in America in the food service industry.
Why does Food Network keep recycling losers from old shows?

as a fan of " local talent", this guy has left several restaurants under dubious circumstances:
BOOTED out of his first real gig at Sugo
Left PSBKLYN in the midst of some sort of marital discord with one of the owners, (and as a Brooklynite, I can VERIFY "DISAPPEARED"
"Executive Chef" at a golf club in Long Island, for a few months,
"Executive Chef" for a few days at a real "greasy spoon" marina restaurant in Sea Cliff. I ate there. The Mexicans did the best they could with the menu. I can't blame them.
Next Stop: Hooters knockoff in Carle Place. Great stuff. hot wings, burgers, tits.
This guy needs a revolving door in his next stop.

  9. He said on the first episode he'd worked at a large number of restaurants; I did some quick math and figured he must leave his job every six months. That doesn't sound promising to me.

  13. 2 episodes in and last week, Restaurant Express had the lowest rated premiere for a Sunday 9PM game show on FN this year:

    1/16/13 Rachael V. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off II 2.376,000 viewers, 0.9 demo
    6/2/13 Food Network Star 9 2,340,000--0.8
    10/6/13 Halloween Wars 3 2,115,000--0.7
    2/17/13 Worst Cooks in America 4 1,976,000--0.7
    8/18/13 Great Food Truck Race 4 1,900,000--0.6
    4/7/13 Chopped All-Stars 1,890,000--0.6
    11/3/13 Restaurant Express 1,436,000--0.4

This past Sunday's second episode dropped to 1,270,000--0.4. Those are Best In Smoke/Last Cake Standing numbers, and everybody knows what happened to those. If RE doesn't pick up, maybe FN will swap timeslots with GGG. Maybe FN's decision to put the first episode on demand on most cable systems hurt the show's ratings, at least for the premiere.
