Paula Deen Cooking Classes - Coming Soon

Paula Deen sent out a tweet today that said "It's back, y'all! My Cooking School shows are finally coming back to Lady_and_Sons," and provided this link with information on "Paula Deen's Cooking School"

The description of the cooking school states:
Welcome to Paula Deen's Cooking School! Come join Paula and friends for a three-course cooking class in Savannah, Ga. Learn how to cook like the Queen of Southern Cuisine, and sample her sweet and savory dishes for yourself in this unique and interactive experience.

*Paula Deen's Cooking School is a fun, intimate and interactive cooking demonstration, however, it is not a traditional cooking class. Participants will not  prepare their own dishes.

The classes are $250 dollars for a 3-course demonstration and are limited to 65 participants.  The classes are being held at Ort Hall, which is directly next to The Lady and Sons in Savannah, GA.  The first class is scheduled for October 25th from 10am - 2pm, and it looks like it is already sold out.  There is a waiting list though.

I guess Paula is making ends meet by bringing people to her and making appearances (cooking shows, cruises, etc) as she hasn't been invited back on TV yet.  $250 x 65 = $16,250 (before hall rental, food costs, etc.), which isn't bad for a day's work, but it certainly isn't close to what she is used to making.

  1. So it's a showcase, not a "cooking class."

  2. $250 for a non-interactive cooking demo with 65 other people? What a freaking rip off. If it was something more intimate - say like 10-15 people - so that you could really ask questions and get advice than maybe. But as is? Joke.

  3. Have no respect for her. She needs to retire, stay out of the public eye, and enjoy her millions.

  4. When she was doing the cooking classes a couple of years ago, she was booked, wow, it would take you a year to get a class. I added up what she was making. unbelievable! 250 x 65 equals 16,250 dollars and she does 2 or 3 x a day. She has so many millions she should be doing this for the No Kids Go Hungry for Savannah, and GA and give a cut to the National Fund. How greedy can you be?

  5. Exactly. For $250 I expect food I can take home, and to be shown how to actually do the process. That means less people and actual teaching. Not a demonstration thing.

  7. OBVIOUSLY, you know nothing about this woman (only what you have heard from the "haters". Did you know that the lawsuit was dropped and the woman who caused all the trouble has now retracted her accusations and is now saying that Deen is a wonderful woman and singing her praises? Have you ever in your life done something you regret and if ever revealed would make you look bad? If not, then you are in a group of one!!

  9. How much did she have to pay her to shut up? It's not what she said it's who she is and what she is. All that money she made, no buildings in her name, no schools were helped, no kids were fed. All she did was take money from the pork people to stand there and hand out food. None of her money.

  10. Just attened her cooking school last Friday at The Landy and Sons and it was great!!! There was a meet and greet where we got to ask her questions then we made two recipes with her and then photos and autographs. Everyone knows you don't attend this cooking school to learn how to cook, but to meet a wonderful woman and share the afternoon with her. She interacted with all 65 of her guests the whole time and we all ejoyed every moment!
