Restaurant Impossible - Dunbar's Creole Cuisine Update

This week on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in New Orleans, Louisiana to makeover Dunbar's Creole Cuisine. Dunbar's Creole Cuisine is a restaurant full of history that needs a lot of help.  When Robert arrives, he finds there are no systems in place, no set roles, and the restaurant's matriarch refuses to change.  Robert will need to turn this restaurant around as the livelihood of two families depend on the restaurant's success.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Dunbar's Creole Cuisine to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:
  • "Community Restaurant!!! Soul Food good. I enjoyed my experience their much hospitality... Thank You!!!"
  • "Delicious. Hadn't been in awhile. Forgot how good the food was. The coconut cake was awesome."
  • "I’ve been going to this place since I’ve moved to New Orleans, by far one of my favorite restaurants, the staff are kind a polite, the food taste like it was made with love!!"
  • "Excellent atmosphere and Great service. Food was good. I will be coming back. Been hearing good reviews just been in for pandamic. You'll not go wrong with anything on the menu."
  • "Just go... it's too good. I ate it before I thought about taking a picture. Ordering ahead helps with the limited parking so you can be in and out."

Other News and Links:
  • The Restaurant Impossible makeover for Dunbar's Creole Cuisine happened in January 2021.
  • Here is the Dunbar's Creole Cuisine Facebook page
  • The restaurant is only open on weekdays from 11am - 5pm.
  • Here are the reviews of Dunbar's Creole Cuisine from Yelp, Google, and Tripadvisor.  The reviews are mostly positive, but there are not a lot from after the makeover as it was just two months before airing.

Conclusion:

The reviews for Dunbar's Creole Cuisine have been all positive since the Restaurant Impossible visit.  There weren't too many reviews because the makeover happened just two months ago, but people seem to like the food and staff.  The restaurant is only open weekdays from 11am-5pm, so we will see if they decide to extend their hours at all after being on the show.
