7th Restaurant and Lounge - Restaurant Impossible Update

Photo - Robert Irvine Facebook

On this week's episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Charlotte, North Carolina to makeover 7th Restaurant and Lounge.  The owner of 7th Restaurant and Lounge, Don, has overcome odds since being paralyzed after being robbed at gunpoint and shot.  His family's survival depends on the success of his restaurant and he has trouble asking for help because he doesn't want to show signs of weakness.  Robert Irvine needs to convince Don that it takes more than just one person to run a restaurant in hopes of making 7th Restaurant and Lounge a success.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about 7th Restaurant and Lounge to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:
  • "First time at this place and it's amazing ! I recommend the mambo shrimp or wings ..... salmon bites or ANYTHING ELSE on the menu ! My bartender was amazing always checking to make sure we were straight no matter how busy it got ! I WILL be back and im bringing a crowd."
  • "Great setting and food. The Management was accommodating without a reservation. Will definitely go back. Brunch was delicious."
  • "great food, good people good staff and good music. went for my birthday brunch and i absolutely loved it!"
  • "Food was amazing, service was prompt. Felt very valued coming in here. French toast was amazing and tea was really good"
  • "I brought my friends here because I liked it the first time i patronized this establishment. We stopped by to eat and drink before a concert. Although we had to sit at the bar because seating was limited due to others having reservations, we absolutely loved it! We had a ball and the food was delicious. Idk the name of the lady bartender but she was very attentive to our needs and gave us awesome service. I will definitely visit again"
  • "Awesome location. Great atmosphere. I go there for brunch multiple times a month. Their salmon or whiting and grits are my favorite. The bartender Green always makes me feel welcomed and special when I am there."

Negative Reviews:
  • "Me and my friend tried to go this place for brunch at 2 o'clock. Remind you brunch end at 4. They refused our service when we seen tables available. When asked why the host could not give a valid answer. When asked to speak with the manager the manager claimed they were busy and couldn't speak. I highly DONT recommend this place."
  • "2/26 showed up 815pm to be placed on the waitlist and was told it would be an 1.5-1.75 hour wait. My name and number was taken down and me and my family went to sit in our cars. We waited 2 hours and went into the restaurant to see the tables empty and the chairs put up. At this time, it is 1025. One of the employees came up and said we are closed. I responded that I was placed on the waitlist and never received a call. She said the kitchen got backed up and they had to close early. She then Followed that sentence with, "a lot of people on the list did not get called". I was not happy with that response nor how this company handled this situation. If they were closing early, they could have notified the people still waiting to come in and let them know they will be closing."
  • "My boyfriend and I went to this location on 2/13/22 around noon/1 o'clock...I was told there was an hour and a half wait so we put our name on the wait list to be called. It is now 9:07 PM on 2/14/22 and we still haven't received a call or text. Maybe there is a 72 hour wait or something."
  • "Really terrible service. Went for a birthday party. Was seated fairly quickly but Waited 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken. When we finally received our food we didn’t have silverware. Getting silverware took another 10 minutes. Waffles were cold by the time I got to eat them. We finished our meal and my friend never received the Cesar salad she ordered. Grits was watery, fried chicken lacked flavor. Took 30 minutes to receive the checks. Giving 2 stars because my cocktail was good. Really wanted to love this place but I won’t be back."
  • "I came in for a work dinner on Saturday and it did not match the vibe. The workers seemed to be all over the place. They were out of key items. It was a bad display of presentation. Our waiter was good and down to earth and she was frustrated with her job as things were not in order. Sad honestly. Food could have been better as well.. would not really care to eat there again"
