Rest Haven - Restaurant Impossible Update

On this week's Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Clarksdale, Mississippi to makeover Rest Haven. Rest Haven is a Lebanese restaurant owned by Paula who is also in charge of the kitchen.  Her unwillingness to change is ruining the restaurant and she may not be able to pass it down to her son.  Robert Irvine needs to teach Paula to trust her son and her staff to save the restaurant and her family's legacy.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Rest Haven to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:

  • "Unbelievable Lebanese food in the Mississippi delta. Reminded me of my grandmother's cooking back in the day. Menu has a little bit of everything but went solely for the Lebanese food. Will make the road trip again very soon."
  • "Being there is not a whole lot of choices in this area, went there twice. Breakfast was very good, eggs served warm, meats good, and prices fair. Country Fried Steak for lunch was great, he gyro was good, and hamburger good as well. Service a bit slow, especially for a yankee. Given the other choices in the area this is the best."
  • "I absolutely luv their food Mrs Paula is soooooo nice"
  • "I was traveling from Columbus Ohio and while in Clarksdale I stopped here with my cousin we had a delicious meal fresh and Hot!!!! I fell in love with this spot and the owner.... talk about Southern Hospitality!!! SHE WAS GREAT!!! I will be back to visit for sure. If your in the area stop by! Great Good! GREAT PEOPLE!"
  • "Staff is wonderful. Be ready to wait, but the social aspect is half the experience 🙂"

Other News and Links:
  • The Restaurant Impossible makeover for Rest Haven happened in October 2021.
  • Here is the Rest Haven Facebook page.
  • It appears they do not have a website and they do not post much on their Facebook page, but there were a lot of well-wishers on the post that announced Restaurant Impossible was coming.
  • Here are the reviews for Rest Haven from Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Google.

Conclusion:

The reviews for Rest Haven since the Restaurant Impossible makeover have all been positive.  It seems like people love the food, staff and Paula.  It seems that the community is rooting for Paula and the restaurant judging how happy they were when it was selected to be on Restaurant Impossible.  Rest Haven does not have much of an online presence, so they may want to pay attention to that after being on national television.
