Restaurant Impossible - Drake's Place Update

Tonight on Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Ferguson, Missouri to makeover Drake's Place. Drake's Place opened in 2014 and is owned by Sonny and Bridget Lewis who are out of money and options.  They are hoping their son can step up more in the restaurant to help turn it around.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Drake's Place to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:

  • "I was pleasantly impressed. It's a small hole in the wall, but don't let that fool you. It is too notched food bursting with flavors. Plus, since it is a small establishment the servers are very attentive."
  • "My wife and I have been trying to get to Drakes Place for about 6 months. We finally got the opportunity to go and it did not disappoint. I got The Fried Catfish Dinner, it was delicious it came with two sides (potato salad and Caesar salad is what I opted for.) It was all great! My wife had a burger with a house sauce on it that she said was fabulous. The food was fresh and hot, the bill was very reasonable too. We will be back soon!"
  • "Drake's place has a nice a relaxing atmosphere for dining. Their food has always had a great flavor, regardless of what you ordered. Keep up the great work!"
  • "Very, very nice restaurant. Good food, nice atmosphere, vey clean. Today was my 5th visit here. Pork chop dinner was delicious. I have never been disapponted at Drake's Place. Great customer service. The owner was gracious and friendly. She talked to my friends and me and was very pleasant. The new updates to the dining room are very nice too. Drakes Place is the place to go."
  • "We visited on a quiet Saturday night. Such a nice spot. It’s a shame that the place was empty at 7pm. Drake’s recently underwent renovations on Restaurant Impossible. The new design is lovely. Service was great. We tried combo appetizer, catfish and shrimp special, pasta dish, and burger. The wings on the appetizer platter were my favorite, zesty and a little spicy. The mango dessert is a must have finish!"
  • "This place is really nice and elegant. It’s very cozy and has a romantic touch. Serves was good and food was great! A must try."
  • "Newly remodeled and decorated really looks nice. Food is great especially the fried catfish. Bring home a bottle of their house made salad dressing, it is great!"

Negative Reviews:
  • "It takes a while for the food to come out. It's worth the time. The food is great! But the service is not. I've been here a few times and it always seems like it's the server's first day...so many mistakes. You'll get a good meal, but be ready to have patience with the server."

Conclusion:

The reviews for Drake's Place since the Restaurant Impossible makeover have been overwhelmingly positive and it was hard to even find a review that had any criticism. People seem to love the food (especially the catfish), the atmosphere, and the reasonable prices.  The reviews before the makeover were also very positive.  One review said the restaurant was empty at 7pm on a Saturday night, so hopefully that was just an off night and not a regular occurrence.
