On this week's episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Aaron Sanchez, Jen Agg and their team are in Oshawa, Ontario to makeover Spicy Affairs. Spicy Affairs is an Indian restaurant and the owners are struggling financially due to the restaurant. This is hurting both their business and their marriage so Aaron and Jen need to help turn things around.
As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Spicy Affairs to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Restaurant Impossible visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):
Positive Reviews:
- "Beautiful food, lovely service. Got the mushroom masala, get extra naan. It's so yummy"
- "A surprise find during a leisurely evening stroll in downtown Oshawa. This is not a particularly big place, and the interior decor and ambience leaves a lot to be desired. However, what stole the show was the food, the taste of which was simply delectable, with various grades of spiciness. This was adequately supported by the fact that the place was close to being filled to capacity when my wife and I walked in."
- "Food here is fantastic. Spicy eggplant and other simple dishes are outstanding. Don't know about service and atmosphere as we've only ordered in. The food quality is excellent, and the spice level, as someone that likes spice, is right on. Highly recommend."
- "Very first visit here. Small but might place. Our server was so very kind. We had paneer and samosas to start and both were equally good. I enjoyed chicken biriyani and hubby had a cashew chicken dish with rice. Everything was very good. We will definitely be going back."
- "The food was truly amazing, and what made the experience even better was the outstanding service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. Overall, a great place for delicious Indian cuisine—I’d definitely recommend it and will be visiting again!"
Negative Reviews:
- "I had a disappointing experience at Spicy Affair due to the poor customer service. The service was not good, and the lady at the front desk was rude and unprofessional during our interaction, which made us feel unwelcome."
- "Terrible experience. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food tasted stale. Definitely not coming back."

- Here is the Spicy Affairs website and Facebook page.
- They do not post much on their Facebook page.
- Before pictures of the makeover are on the Food Network Facebook page here.
- Here are the reviews for Spicy Affairs from Yelp and Google.

Conclusion:
The reviews for Spicy Affairs since the Restaurant Impossible makeover are mostly positive with people liking the food and the ability to control the spiciness of the food. The few negative reviews had to do with service, but there were also positive reviews on the service. Spicy Affairs does not post much online, so they may want to increase their social media presence. There are actually two restaurant locations for Spicy Affairs and there is a Franchise Inquiry form on their website, so perhaps some of the supposed financial issues is due to trying to expand.
