Big Dawg's - Restaurant Impossible Update

Photo - Robert Irvine Facebook

On this week's episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Memphis, Tennessee to makeover Big Dawg's. Big Dawg's is a restaurant that specializes in hot dogs.  The owner Tyrone started the restaurant as a passion project and now the struggles of the restaurant are tearing his family apart.  Robert will need to teach Tyrone how to successfully run a restaurant to hopefully save his restaurant and family.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Big Dawg's to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:
  • "Great people and great food! Always a good combination"
  • "Neat, tidy little restaurant. Service was friendly. Food was quick and fresh. I can't wait to take friends for a hotdog"
  • "Best dawgs in town!"

Negative Reviews:
  • "High point, my boys liked the Chili Mac hot dogs; but the fries were slightly under cooked.....The catfish BLT is fair at best, better seasoning would help the taste. The buffalo shrimp sandwich should have only “peeled” shrimp, that are not over cooked & less buffalo sauce. It was almost inedible.... Parking: If you don’t get the first four spots you not parking out front."

Other News and Links:
  • The Restaurant Impossible makeover for Big Dawg's happened in September 2022.
  • Here is the Big Dawg's website and Facebook page.
    • To see the menu on their website, you have to click the 'order online' button.
    • They do not post much on their Facebook page.
  • Here are the reviews for Big Dawg's from Yelp and Google.
    • There are not too many reviews either before or after the makeover.

Conclusion:

There aren't too many reviews of Big Dawg's since the Restaurant Impossible makeover, but there were a few positive ones about the food and service.  Without many reviews, it is hard to get an idea how the restaurant is doing based on reviews.  The restaurant also doesn't really post much on social media.  It seems like this will be one to watch and hopefully the small amount of reviews doesn't mean people aren't going to eat there.
