Justin Warner Got Married Today

Photo - Twitter
Food Network Star season 8 winner Justin Warner got married today to his fiance Brooke Sweeten.  Fellow Food Network Star contestant Martie Duncan was there and helped with the planning of the wedding.  Also Food Network Sweet Genius Ron Ben-Israel made the couple's wedding cake.

The photo to the right of Justin and his bride was posted on Twitter and the other photos are from Justin and Brooke's Instagram.  I am not sure if there is any significance of the June 29th date, but a wedding on a Monday isn't too common.  This is the second Food Network Star wedding in the past two weeks with Damaris Phillips getting married.

Congrats to Justin and Brooke!

  2. I wonder whether Dom would do better if he were on a show in which he was partnered with another chef and could converse more freely with his partner. Maybe it would make him less aware of the camera and ease his nerves.

  3. Personally, I like Dom, and he showed in that one segment with a visiting Judge that he can be spontaneous and charming. Think he may be too rehearsed and freezes in front of the camera sometimes.

  4. She's cute, but that nose ring.....not so much

  5. I'm glad Eddie jumped in and cut Alex off. As good a cook as Alex is, he's entirely too long-winded.

  6. Congrats, I am surprised he is straight.

  7. I always think about pulling Oxen around when I see those.

  8. Giada seems to alternate between displaying her boobs and dressing like a preteen. Neither is an appropriate look or makes me want to see her as a person with some degree of authority.

  9. Now Guy describes every food the same way. He just lists what is Creamy, spicy, salty, sweet, crunchy, etc.

  10. With his usual efficiency, Matt has fixed the error.

  11. Spice Island are the dollar store spices too,

  12. I think they're hoping for hipster millennials, but I don't think they'd flock to FN.

  13. I once had to do a presentation with a guy that just messed up his knee and was on a whole lot of pain killers. He kept going on and on really slowly, I was doing the watch pointing thing and kept kind of edging over to him. It is not a good feeling, but it was funny at the same time.

  14. You can't just call yourself The Sandwich King anyway.

  15. I can just imagine!

  16. I remember he and his girlfriend at the time (not his current wife) participated in an obscure Food Network show called 24-Hour Restaurant Battle a few years ago - and won. The show is no more and the restaurant never materialized.

  17. They look very happy. I hope they have many great years together.

  18. ....as compared to the hosts of the NFNS...

  19. I don't think millennials want to claim him for their own.

  20. Wow, that sounds like a fun show. I would have watched it at least once. Too bad it's gone already.

  21. I felt bad for Eddie.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He has my condolences

    ReplyDelete
  23. No, they don't. But FN probably thinks Matthew is cutting edge.

  24. Speaking of former winner's who never made it on FN, what's Lenny been up to?!?!?!?

GF's favorite adjective is "tender". Pay attention to what he says about the food on DDD...if "tender" is even remotely relevant, he'll say it.

  28. I do not enjoy Giada's boobs as much as others may, but the comments about them are awfully funny. So I begrudgingly have to agree, they "girls" should continue to be mentors along with Bobby and Giada.

  29. Maybe getting his toilet snaked.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow, he does!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Or snaking somebody else's toilet.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Or maybe they could film a show where he's asleep during it. He'd be nice and relaxed that way. The Sleepy Chef. Sleeping Dude-y.

  33. Maybe putting out a new line of Advent calendars for dummies.

  34. How they get paid, they know most people DVR shows and fast forward through commercial breaks

All of the cooking shows on these networks have thus far avoided the temptation of dabbling in product placement. After all, in the first half of the year, Food Network pulled in $283.2 million in advertising while HGTV earned $300.2 million in the same time period, according to Kantar Media.

  35. It's too obvious, but I get get why they need to do it(pays the bills and most people skip/ignore regular commercials)

  36. Wouldn't President be a step down from King? Should be Sandwich Emperor

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah I guess he thought he could overcome it, but what I find annoying is when the judges tell someone to be themselves and then criticize them when they are.

    ich bin der Sandwich Fuehrer!

  39. The show was just OK. It had a weird low budget vibe to it. It's basically just a duller version of Top Chef's Restaurant Wars with a $10k prize. The awful Food Court Wars is the exact same concept except it's set in a Mall for some odd reason. Aren't Malls a dying entity?

    ReplyDelete
  40. LOL, this made me laugh!

    ReplyDelete
  41. No no, Marcel looks Justiny.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Did they wear the same lipstick?

    ReplyDelete
  43. True, but they still air the episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wasn't aware that malls are a dying entity. Then again, I rarely go. I watching Food Court Wars. It wasn't my favourite show, but it was entertaining while it lasted.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I get that they need to make money..It was just SO heavy handed!

    ReplyDelete
  46. So was Justin...and look how well that turned out

    ReplyDelete
  47. Justin actually is cutting edge, if you know anything about his restaurant and what he does there; Matthew is all gestures and wannabe hipster soundbites. And Justin's actual approach to food is why FN couldn't figure out what to do with him.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's gotten even heavier handed on Guy's Grocery Games.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Maybe. But the point is that the average viewer has an idea of what tender means, and Alex needs to either use a more generally accessible vocabulary or explain the less familiar stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Or Sandwich God.

After all, if Bal Arneson can be the Spice Goddess …

    ReplyDelete
  51. Don't get me wrong, I liked Justin. But FN never did figure out what to do with him. Which is a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I agree they could do better to not make it so obvious.but the things that annoy me in shows is when they try to push(subtlety or not so subtlety) a social or political agenda. I know the company that owns FN is ultra-Liberal(they fired brothers from HGTV(which they also own) for being Christian and vocaling supporting traditional marriage). I just want wish they would be more neutral about it

    ReplyDelete
  53. Are there no re-runs?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sometimes I wonder how Lenny must feel on a daily basis knowing that he fucked up so badly.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My complaints too. This show is just coming off more and more like a stereotypical reality show. AND they were really heavy on sound effects this episode. Every couple of seconds they were playing one. Did anyone else notice? They probably do this every episode but I really noticed it in this one.

    ReplyDelete
  56. It's strange because he does well in the interviews that they intersperse in the show. I guess it's just the intimidation of being up in front of Bobby and Giada? Or just a physical audience in general? I don't know. I feel like he's the everyman in this competition in that any regular person would struggle with being on the spot light frequently. So I'm kind of rooting for him in that sense.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Was that the one with a wall dividing the 2 teams in a big room? Where there was a caveman-themed restuarant where they sat on stumps and ate with their hands?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I haven't seen any.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Um... no. What were you watching? LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Why is Giada wearing Jades outfit?

    ReplyDelete
  61. No kidding. She just looked ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Actually, yes it was. They divide the room in two, get some money for food and decor and then one person is in the kitchen while their partner handles the dining room. They both get maybe one or two staff.

The caveman-concept guys actually did a restaurant that way afterward. Robert Irvine tried to save it on RI.
