These guys appear to be able to knock the ball out of the park when it comes to cooking for one or a few people but when they get too many at one time it sounds like they fail. What a shame to have so much talent yet you cannot deliver. Asking customers (in a sense) to see past your short-comings because the wait is worth it (fantastic meals) just won't work in the restaurant business. If Chuck and his mom's recipes are that good perhaps he should advertise for apprentice cooks who get to learn while working side-by-side with him and get paid once they can recreate his dishes to alleviate the pressure by adding more employees so the service-side grows stronger?Dave_Mowersnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8808060991534955915.post-89493958783642789962013-12-07T08:32:17.554-05:002013-12-07T08:32:17.554-05:00This is in my part of the world, so I'm a bit ...This is in my part of the world, so I'm a bit curious, but I don't know.MoHubnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8808060991534955915.post-33722353996944433832013-12-03T01:36:36.698-05:002013-12-03T01:36:36.698-05:00My wife and I went the first day after the opening...My wife and I went the first day after the opening. The oven was broke, and it seemed that everything we had was nothing more then left overs that were re-heated in a microwave. The "New" wings were awful, and I informed the waitstaff and the reply I received as "Oh OK' then when I got my main-course which was their meat loaf with mashed potatoes it was truly the worst I had ever had. Why are people being so personal about this? So many seem so hateful. It is a restaurant people. I live in a suburb on the East coast and I don't give a crap about who owns the establishments where we eat. If I like the food in an establishment they get repeat business from me if I don't like it I don't go back. We did eat at Seven while visiting family when they first opened and it was your typical Midwest mom and pop food, perch, prime rib, burgers, etc. I am actually sad I may not get a chance to try out the new menu as the it seems to be more up my alley. After seeing this small town drama unfold, I'm not sure I would trust all of the negative reviews. Personally, I prefer to form my own opinions and when it comes to LP this is one of the few interesting places so why not. It seems as though there are some personal issues between people who have way too much time on their hands? Not sure why selling is a big deal either. Per the episode they were $160,000 in debt and I would wage to say that is just the property. Not sure how much the liquor licenses run in Indiana, but add that. The owners said they were operating in the negative 4-5k/month and at the time of the show that would put them at 18 months then, 20 now, which equals on the high end $100,000. Lets just say the liquor license was 20k, their debt as of now is roughly $280,000. I can totally understand listing the place if business hasn't pushed them to either break even or put them in profit mode. That is simple business, not a personal profiteering effort, heck I cringed hearing the owner say he has a lien on his home because the SBA provides loans for start ups without requiring collateral. I really hope they listen to Irvine and hire a real chef. They simply can't compete in this kind of business today unless they have a real one. Menus need to change frequently to keep guests coming back.

I also hope that this community starts supporting community. It is to small of a town to wage war on one another. Peace!Eastcoastfoodienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8808060991534955915.post-69135450023219125932013-11-30T16:03:45.448-05:002013-11-30T16:03:45.448-05:00As usual, RI turns a local eatery into an upscale ...As usual, RI turns a local eatery into an upscale place with smaller portions and higher prices. Most towns can't afford these kind of places. Only once has Robert down scaled a place after doing market research.

Almost all the places have cheeseburgers. Fine, but who wants to pay upscale prices for a cheeseburger? Also without a real Chef how can ANY restaurant hope to succeed.

Another annoying thing, on earlier shows Robert actually showed the owners how to fix specific problems like costing, staffing, food prep, purchasing, etc. so if one ran a restaurant he or she could learn from the show. Now its just the drama of clueless idiots who shouldn't be in the business moaning about their problems and how mean Robert is.John Lefcourtenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8808060991534955915.post-68717918767658954302013-11-30T15:58:16.335-05:002013-11-30T15:58:16.335-05:00I live three hours away outside of Indianapolis.
