Cutthroat Kitchen: Superstar Sabotage To Premiere October 8th

Photo - Food Network
The Food Network continues to quickly produce new episodes of Cutthroat Kitchen, and the show will have its first tournament, which will start on Wednesday, October 8th at 9pm.  The tournament will feature 16 chefs and there will be five episodes, similar to Chopped tournaments.  The chefs are competing for charity, and the prize is up to $75,000 depending on how much money they spend on sabotages.

Below are the chefs competing and which episode they will be on:

  • October 8th episode -  Susan Feniger, Jeff Mauro, Michael Psilakis and Aarti Sequeira
  • October 15th episode - Nadia G, Brian Malarkey, Marcel Vigneron and Justin Warner
  • October 22nd episode - Anne Burrell, Eric Greenspan, Johnny Iuzzini and Damaris Phillips
  • October 29th episode - Melissa d’Arabian, Elizabeth Falkner, Alex Guarnaschelli and Fabio Viviani
The winners of each of the four episodes will face off in the finale with the winner taking home prize money for their charity.  As you know with Cutthroat Kitchen, the best chef doesn't always win, so this competition could be won by anybody.

  1. Interesting mixes in each group. I can't see why Damaris is in a group with heavy hitters like Anne Burrell, Eric Greenspan, and Johnny Iuzzini. The most balanced group seems to be the October 15 group.

  2. Seems like the food network is in tournament mode as of lately! Should be interesting. Seems like they are leaning more towards these competition based shows instead of older formats like iron chef America.

  3. I am very happy to see Damaris competing. She remains a skilled, competent and likeable contender. Best wishes for her continued success.

  4. I think Damaris makes more sense than Justin Warner.

  5. Yay, Chef Alex is competing!!

  6. I'm perfectly confident in Damaris' culinary skills. I just don't see her embracing the cutthroat aspect of the competition, especially not against the other three participants in her round.

  7. Not in terms of cutthroat strategizing. I think Justin has the ability to play a very cunning game.

  8. How about Lenny? He would be a great contestant!!!! No matter what.....the man can cook!

    ReplyDelete
  9. that doesn't make any sense. you're basing this on what exactly? Do you even know what this jerk said about Ree Drummond. Do you talk that way about mothers you don't even know?

  10. Damaris might too. She's less predictable and will be fun to watch.

  11. Who knows? She could surprise us.

  12. I'd love to see whether she has a wicked side.

  13. I don't care for Nadia G. or Brian Malarkey and I loathe Justin Warner so I hope Marcel finally wins one. I also loathe Elizabeth Falkner and I don't like Melissa so I hope they lose. Interesting that Fabio is doing a FN show. I'd love to see him win.

  14. I had to google Fabio. I forgot him from Top Chef.

  15. Fabio is a media whore who, besides appearing on >i>Top Chef and Top Chef All Stars has mead appearancees on Epic Food Empire and even Storage Wars, not to mention some cheesy pizza-chain commercials (don't remember whether it was Domino's or Pizza Hut). He won Fan Favorite in his first appearance on TC, but I trust him about as far as I can throw him and think he'll make a very slimy, sneaky competitor on Cutthroat.

  16. Yeah, they'll probably just have him go away quietly once the controversy dies down a bit. Probably trying to save face by not overtly firing him.

  17. Yes, we have freedom of speech, and Lenny has certainly used that. Food Network, though, also has freedoms -- such as the freedom to hire and fire whoever they damn please. That's the way freedoms work -- you may have them, but that doesn't mean your actions won't have consequences.

  18. I can't stand this show. What idiot would slot this into every prime time hour on the night it is shown??? Had FN's programming not become so bad....I never would have discovered HGTV!

    ReplyDelete
  19. He's not the most successful media whore if he's been on Top Chef and I can't remember him without googling.

  20. Saw an ad during this weeks Rewrapped that Masterchef Canadais going to be airing on FN's sister station Cooking Channel. Thought that sounded interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Never said he was the most successful, but he has always seemed more interested in being in front of a camera than in being known as a chef with a high-quality restaurant.

  22. Take away Anne Burrrell's bucket of salt and she would be done.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why don't you like it?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Marcel vs Justin could be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Definitely. He's the type to research the show and figure out ways to maximize his chances. Tonight's episode could have been so much better. You have to shop for the other person. If it were me, I would have gotten the mandatory ingredients and nothing else. Instead, these 2 idiots fill up the shopping carts and switch. No way a guy like Justin does that.

  26. Sometimes it's the innocent looking ones you have to watch out for. They'll give you a kiss on the cheek and a knife in the back.

  27. UGH. Brian Malarkey makes watching The Taste a chore. His histrionics and diva attitude make me wish that he and Ludo (another spoiled diva on The Taste) would just slap-fight each other to death.

  28. i honestly don't the raunchy, crude behavior.. What annoys me, though, is this guy prances around like a cowboy gentleman. He's a complete fraud, and im not going to support anyone who lies about who they are just to win a stupid competition

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree I love the mix up of level of skill. The fact they mixed it up definitly tests the fact that this show really isnt determined completely by your cooking ability but also by your strategy in spending and which advanatages/disadvantages to take...

As for overall cast I say I remember Nadia G's feisty attitude. She will be an interesting one to watch especially the group shes with. Marcel and Brian were both Top Chef alums, Marcel is known for irking people the wrong way so Im sure he will have no problem embracing this show but because of his skill expect the others to target him early on. Justins cool demeanor may not fit this show but he was pretty competitive on his run on NFNS.

Damaris does seem like the odds are against her but perhaps hey did that for underdog status.. Burrell is always a beast but it will be interesting because I feel like shes the one that will be targetted first. Iuzzini is a pastry chef but very well versed too so hes not to be inderestimated. You can bet if one of the rounds is some sort of dessert then they would target him instead. A lot of the time it may be not whos the best but who can work withe the dish the best of who to take out.

I love Susan Feniger.. i actually think she could become an iron chef for her skill and her overall fun presence. It is odd to see her competing on a show like this. Her group is a true toss up. I personally dont like Jeff Mauro that much but hes a competition hog too he seems the most scheming in his group as everyone else has nice or fun personalities. Psilakis is very versed and skilled. Aarti is a sweetheart but can cook up a storm too but i dunno if shes fit for this comp. Shes lost and won Chopped so its a toss up if Aarti can win this one.

They just love pinning Elizabeth and Alex against each other again. Its annoying to think Elizabeth Faulkner (or even Amanda Freitag) could/should have won that iron chef spot over Alex if that show wasnt obviously already rigged for Guarnaschelli to win it... Melissa is good at working with wbat you get so she may be one to watch for but im unsure with the group shes in.. Fabio is a fun personality too but i remember him being competitive and sometimes opinionated on Top Chef.

This is an interesting all-stars cast .

  30. Yeah, not a big fan of Brian's - I'm glad he was replaced after the first season of the Taste. Marcus Samuelson was SO much better. From what I understand, he'll be back for season 3 as well.

  31. Is there anywhere that I can view the removed photobucket videos?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I've seen Justin popping up in more shows lately. He might be a tougher fit as he's not as mainstream but he'll find his way.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Like someone else on the board said, there's plenty of great cooks, even on YouTube. Nothing about Lenny makes him "appetizing."

    ReplyDelete
  34. Put him on Spike TV, or on some other network.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sexual harassment is a crime.

    ReplyDelete
  36. With viewers like you, is it any wonder tv is so bad?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Too bad you weren't here to see the links. I'm sure someone has the videos backed up. I checked out the vile content personally. It was ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Nobody said The Talk was a good show. At least I don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  39. So, just because something is bad, we should keep making more bad stuff? Your logic is faulty.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Several of the posters saved them. A few articles had screenshots. Unfortunately, after Food Network and Lenny got wind that people discovered it, it was removed.
I'm sure you can contact the Ron and Fez show, too, for info.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Just saying, I'm guessing Food Network probably checked all this shit out before casting him. If they had cared they wouldn't have let him on. It's all you fuckers out there who made it impossible for him to get his show. I loved watching him cook, and there were many recipes I would've liked to learn! You all wanted Luca because he was hot with his shirt off. Yes, I would have like a shirtless Luca show, but his cooking? Kinda crappy. Nicole? She was boring. Better cooking than Luca, but boring to watch. Fuck, she had to booze it up on her pilot to loosen up! Lenny was fun to watch and had good cooking. Oh no, he has a past. So what? Like y'all don't cuss? You say you don't and I find you retarded. Liars make bad posters. So fuck you all for taking away a funny show starring a funny guy.

    ReplyDelete
  42. or they never came back to this site...

    ReplyDelete
  43. If he had a show called 'Shirtless Cooking' I'd watch. Otherwise, I want Lenny. Oh no! He cusses. So what?

    ReplyDelete
  44. OMG, for the love of God. Paula Deen is an old kindly lady. Leave her alone! Lenny was guaranteed screened prior to being casted, and they let him through.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Actually, I was glad he didn't. His cooking is only so so. His sexy factor? Top notch.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ya, Luca looks good; I might even hook up with him if we were in a Food Network orgy, or something. But, as far as tv shows and comprehensive edutainment, Lenny is the man. Radical dude.

  48. Didn't want him to win anyway.
His character is now more repulsive than ever.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm just finding this forum and I have to say that I didn't buy his humble, wide-eyed, cowboy act for one minute. Entirely over-acted pandering in my opinion and very disappointed that he won. Not surprised by any of this information though.

  50. Paula may be old, but she is about as kindly as a hedgehog. I have seen her "antics" and was appalled. Tacky jokes, practically getting in bed with a married couple on her awful party show, batting her eyes and telling the young man "feed me". Ugh. I need a shower just thinking about that. A total embarrassment to Food Network. And JudyK is quite right. She wasn't fired for a single racist comment. She deserved everything she got for allowing her brother to create a hostile work environment in a restaurant she co-owned with him. Consultants she hired TRIED to tell her what was happening there and she blew them off.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Sorry, you are incorrect. Bobbly Flay made that comment to Sarah Penrod during the finale after announcing Lenny was the winner.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Like next food network star matters. Ive never seen any shows from the winners. Besides Bobby Flay and everyone else on there have at least 3 shows on there.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The chefs all made it clear who they wanted to win, starting with the 8 weeks of personal coaching Luca got after he was kicked off of the show the first time. If people are really naive enough to think that FN did not know about this history before Lenny appeared on the show, then they need to wise up. This is either a ratings grab or a set up to make sure that the FN's favorite gets a show, while pretending that it is America's choice. FN should be embarrassed.

  54. He won. What does it matter if he cussed or drinks beer. Don't be pathetic and whiney that he doesn't play by your rules. He won fairly I will add. Personally I liked him he's not a robot like most other people on TV.
Give him his show that he won!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. "He can't talk", the proper grammatical english would be " He can't speak". It's just great when those who cannot speak decent english, wish to correct others.
