Cupcake Wars Season Eight Preview

Cupcake Wars Food NetworkA new season of Cupcake Wars start tonight at 8pm, and tonight's theme is a party for the San Diego Zoo.  The themes for the rest of the month include the show The Young and the Restless, the band All-American Rejects, a Hawaiian Food Festival, and an I Heart Radio Music Festival.  Also, check out the themes for the rest of the season, and who will be the guest judges on the eighth season of Cupcake Wars:
  • Fan Favorites - Four all-star bakers, handpicked by the fans, will compete for the chance to serve their cupcakes at a celebrity packed charity gala hosted by guest judge, 'N Sync's Lance Bass.
  • "Weird Al" Yankovic  - Comedian "Weird Al" Yankovic is the guest judge.
  • People's Choice Awards - The People's Choice Awards president, Fred Nelson, serves as guest judge.
  • Tiffani Thiessen's Birthday Bash  - White Collar, Beverly Hills 90210 and Saved by the Bell actress Tiffani Thiessen is the guest judge.
  • South Beach Wine and Food Festival - Food Network's "Sandwich King," Jeff Mauro, is the guest judge.
  • Ace of Cupcakes  - Two and a Half Men star and poker player, Mimi Rogers, appears as the guest judge
  • Cosmic Cupcakes - California Science Center curator, Dr. Kenneth Phillips, serves as the guest judge.
  • The Harlem Globetrotters - Globetrotter Herbert "Flight Time" Lang serves as the guest judge.
  • Fran Drescher's Cancer Schmancer - Television star Fran Drescher's is the guest judge.
  • Comedy Cupcakes  - Celebrity publicist Jennifer Styles serves as the guest judge.
  • Cupcakes 'R' Us - Toy inventor Nancy Zwiers serves as the guest judge.
  • Blue Man Group - Phil Stanton, Creator of the Blue Man Group, serves as the guest judge.
  • Taylor Dayne's '80s Party - '80s pop music icon Taylor Dayne is the guest judge.

First of all, the cupcake obsession is now passe...enough already!  Cupcake Wars and Sweet Genius and Sugar Dome have got to be the most boring programs ever produced.  Let me see REAL food any day of the week over this sugar fascination.  And PLEASE Food Network, QUIT making us wait for the REAL shows until after you "stick us" with this crap.

I miss the old school food network challenges with cake artists... i know they have sugar dome but i find that to be a train wreck at times and its not the same... yeah cupcakes are alright... but this show is tired... but it did shine light on some cupcake places that exist in Santa Barbara (like Crush Cakes owned by that woman whos made it to the final round 3 times and lost all 3) but really i agree cupcake wars is getting boring...
